As a teacher I believe in an equal education for all children in our country. This is my view because our children are an investment in our future as a democracy and a leading nation in the modern world. I see my job as teaching children how to think so that they can become independent and successful adults. Independent adults need to be able to make informed decisions when it comes to voting, politics, and ethics. Students need to learn how to analyze information so that they can make well grounded decisions. These skills are applicable in students’ professional and personal life as well. It is my goal and responsibility that my students acquire the literacy skills they need to become independent and well informed citizens of our great country.
